How to Hold a Charity Silent Auction

There are many different types of charity silent auction that a person can hold, with a couple ideas being a school silent auction and a hospital silent auction. If you know an organization that needs some funding and would like to throw a charity silent auction as a means of coming up with this funding, first and foremost you should know that you are doing a really great thing.

However, even if you have experience with regular auctioning, you are going to need to make yourself more aware of silent auctions and what they involve. If you want to throw a charity silent auction there are a few things in particular that you are going to want to be aware of, which will be discussed here in detail.

Finances

So you have a great idea of throwing a charity silent auction, but more than likely you do not have the funding to pay for setting everything up, at least not on your own. Now what you should realize is that although for a regular party for yourself it would be downright rude to ask guests to give you money to help get everything going, when it comes to a charity silent auction, this is an event that is worth it and so guests are definitely not going to mind helping you out where needed.

The best idea here however is for you to only ask your closest friends, rather than putting it on the invitation for instance or asking everyone outright to help you out here. The last thing you want is for the guests to feel burdened as though they are going to stand out if they do not help you pay for the costs of the party, and in fact, some just may not be able to.

Remember that the more people you invite the more success you are going to have and the more money you will raise at the auction, so even get everyone that you are inviting to bring a friend or two so that you will have that many more people at the auction.

Remember that you are doing this for charity and you should not forget that, so even though of course you need to take it seriously, your main purpose here is to make sure that everyone has fun and that you make the money that you are working for so you can give it to the charity of your choice.
